Traffic measures
To make King’s Day April 26 a festive day with accompanying live broadcast, many preparations are needed. Construction of stages, cameras, bleachers and scenery begins about a week before the event. From then on, we will close some roads and parking lots to allow for safe construction. Toward Saturday, April 26, the number of closures and measures increases. After the event, dismantling takes several days. The closures and measures will then be lifted incrementally.
The map shows the closures and measures in place in and around the center. A visitor’s map with information on (bicycle) parking for all visitors to the event will follow shortly. We may still have to make minor adjustments to the measures. The latest information is always on this website.

Alternate parking spaces CR1, CR2, CENTRUM or SPECIFIC-VERITY parking permits
We are temporarily closing part of the parking lots where you can park with a CR1, CR2, CENTRUM or SPECIFIC-VERGMENT (Catharina garage, Tjalmastraat, Hofstraat (formerly Mediamarkt), Stokhorstweg, Gruitpoort (partially) and Raadhuisstraat. You can find the closed parking spaces, dates and times on the map. You can continue to park in the other parking lots.
Permit holders who live close to the closed parking lots can request an alternate parking space through the request form. There is no charge for this.
There are permit holder parking spaces for which you need a pass. Permit holder parking spaces (and private parking spaces) are accessible in the areas below. You do need a permit to enter the area (you can always exit). You can apply for this using the application form.
You can apply until noon on Thursday, April 17. Your application will be reviewed within a few days. After the review, you will be notified by email whether your alternate parking space or pass has been granted. We ask that you only apply for alternative parking when you actually need it. This way we keep the limited alternative parking spaces available to everyone as much as possible.
Documents can be picked up without an appointment from Monday, April 14 through Friday, April 18. This can be done at the town hall. Check doinchem.nl for opening hours. Not all temporary parking spaces require a paper document. For this, please read the instructions we will send you by email after the assessment.
Alternative parking for residents with private parking within the car and bike-free area
You may not enter and exit with your motor vehicle or (moped and/or moped) bicycle during road closures and traffic measures in the closed and car and bicycle-free area. Not even if you have a private parking space, garage or other storage facility there. If you have an indoor garage, you can choose to leave your motor vehicle or (moped and/or moped) bike inside during the road closure. You can’t leave then. On the night before King’s Day and on Saturday, April 26, we block the entrances and exits of indoor garages with concrete blocks. These will be removed at the end of the day on Saturday, April 26. The area remains accessible on foot at all times. You can also choose to park temporarily in an alternate parking lot. Want to request alternate parking for during road closures and traffic measures? Then fill out the application form.
Outdoor and public parking spaces must be empty as soon as road closures and traffic measures take effect. Motor vehicles or (moped and/or moped) bicycles remaining in these parking spaces at that time will be towed away. Active warnings will be issued in advance. As a user of a private parking space in the area, you can request an alternate parking space using the request form.
There are 7 areas where you can enter and exit with a pass. These areas are called car and bike restricted areas. Private parking spaces remain accessible in these areas, provided you request a pass for this area via the application form.
You can apply from Tuesday, April 8 to Thursday, April 17, noon. Your application will be reviewed within a few days. After the review, you will be notified by email whether your alternate parking space, pass-through permit or temporary parking waiver has been granted. The number of alternate parking spaces is limited, so apply as soon as possible.
