Royal weekend program
Visitor map
The map shows where you can choose a good spot along the route. Our advice: arrive on time and consider in advance where you want to stand! You cannot walk with the royal family. It is too crowded for that. There are also large screens along the route to watch the live broadcast on. Tip: save the map as an image on your phone. That way you will always have it to hand on the day!

Traveling by public transportation
Doetinchem is easily accessible by train and bus. Extra long trains run from Arnhem towards Doetinchem. Check the Arriva site for more information.
Traveling by bicycle
If you come by bicycle, please note that some roads are closed to (moped and/or moped) cyclists. Bike routes are signposted locally. There are five free bike racks around the center:
Traveling by car
We encourage you to come by public transportation or bicycle. This is to avoid long traffic jams at parking lots and on detour routes.
Shuttle locations
On King’s Day, free shuttle buses will run between Gezellenlaan and Terborgseweg (near Uncle Charles’ Meadow) and between Turfweg and Veemarkt. The shuttle buses run every 15 minutes from 08.00 to 17.00. At the Turfweg and the Gezellenlaan in Doetinchem there are large parking lots where you can park for free. You can reach these by following the indicated route on the signs.
Parking locations
Are you coming by car to the center of Doetinchem? Then keep in mind that not all parking lots and parking garages are accessible or open. Check the map to see where you can park when. Times may vary per location. Follow the signs for the different parking areas.
Bring & pick-up locations
We are setting up two drop-off & pick-up locations (see visitor map): at the Dr. Bardet Place and at Dichterseweg. Follow the signs for these locations if you want to drop someone off or pick them up.
Application for disabled parking spaces and wheelchair spaces
We want to make it a festive King’s Day for everyone! On the route we will place 2 wheelchair spaces, we will offer people with a disabled parking card (GPK) a parking space near the route and we will have a low stimulation zone in Filmhuis Amphion during the visit of the Royal Family.
In our digital form you can request 2 things:
You can apply until Monday, April 21. We will evaluate your application within a few days. After that you will hear by e-mail whether we will grant your ticket for a wheelchair space or disabled parking space. The number of spaces in wheelchair spaces and disabled parking is limited, so apply as soon as possible.
Low-incentive King’s Day celebrations at Amphion Film House
For those who need a quiet place near the event during the Royal Family’s visit, we are setting up a low-incentive zone in the Amphion Filmhouse. You are welcome from 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26.
King’s Day broadcast with sign language interpreter
At the Amphion Filmhuis, you can watch the live broadcast of King’s Day with a sign language interpreter. You are welcome from 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26.
