Traffic measures
To make King’s Day April 26 a festive day with accompanying live broadcast, many preparations are needed. Construction of stages, cameras, bleachers and scenery has begun. To do this, we have closed some roads and parking lots to allow safe construction. Toward Saturday, April 26, the number of closures and measures increases. After the event, dismantling takes several days. We then gradually lift the closures and measures.
The map shows the closures and measures in place in and around the center. We may still need to make minor adjustments to the measures. The latest information is always on this website.
Please note that the Royal Walk in Doetinchem will start one hour later due to the funeral of Pope Francis. The traffic measures on the map below therefore have an end time of one hour later in most cases. The IJsselkade/C. Missetstraat (the red dotted line) applies until 1 p.m. on Monday, April 27.

Permit holders of a CR1, CR2, CENTRUM or SPECIFIC permit have been notified by Buha about requesting alternate parking. You can find the closed parking spaces, dates and times on the map. Do you have questions as a permit holder? Please contact us at [email protected].
In the areas below, permit holder and private parking spaces are accessible. This does require a pass to enter the area. Driving out is allowed at any time.
Areas where a passage permit is required
- Gaswal, Gruitpoort, Korte Kapoeniestraat, Kapoeniestraat, C. Missetstraat and IJsselbrug, approach route from Europaweg via Gruitpoort.
- De Plantenstraat, approach route from Terborgseweg.
- The Burgemeester Tenkinkstraat, approach route from Plantenstraat / Het Paslein.

- The Glazenmakersweggetje, approach route from Houtkampstraat.

You may not enter and exit the closed and car and bicycle-free area with your motor vehicle or (moped and/or moped) bicycle during road closures and traffic measures. Not even if you have a private parking space, garage or other storage facility there. If you have an indoor garage, you can choose to leave your motor vehicle or (moped and/or moped) bike inside during the road closure. You can’t leave then. On the night before King’s Day and on Saturday, April 26, we block the entrances and exits of indoor garages with concrete blocks. We will remove these at the end of the day on Saturday, April 26. The area remains accessible on foot at all times. You can also choose to park temporarily in an alternate parking lot.
Outdoor parking spaces and public spaces within the car and bicycle-free area must be empty as soon as the road closures and traffic measures take effect. Motor vehicles or (moped and/or moped) bicycles remaining in these parking spaces at that time will be towed away. Active warnings will be issued in advance.
There are 7 areas where you can enter during road closures and traffic measures with your motor vehicle or (moped and/or moped) bicycle with a permit. You can always drive out. These areas are called car and bike free zones. Private parking spaces and parking spaces for permit holders remain accessible in these areas. You will need a permit and a temporary parking exemption. The areas remain accessible on foot at all times.
